Two people were reportedly arrested after two parcel bombs exploded in Geneva on August 20 in Saint-Jean and November 25 in Grange-Canal. In the first case, a man, employed by the watchmaker Patek Philippe, was injured after handling a bag placed in front of his entrance. In the second case, a parcel bomb injured a 12-year-old child in the stomach as she opened the mailbox. It is suspected that another employee of the factory was the target of this explosive trap.
Two individuals were arrested Wednesday morning by the police. According to 20 minutesthey are two brothers. One was arrested in Geneva, according to the Geneva Tribune. He would be 28 years old and would have been incarcerated in the canton of Fribourg. His older brother, aged 32, was arrested and is incarcerated in Valais where he lives.
The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office has taken these two men into custody for attempted murder, endangering the lives of others, attempted extortion and blackmail and use of explosives, recall the two media outlets. The two men would deny having any connection with Patek Philippe or its employees.
