The Light of Peace from Bethlehem has arrived in !

On Wednesday, December 18, at the Maison des Scouts et Guides de du , the celebration of the arrival in the Var of the Light of Peace of Bethlehem (LPB) took place.

After traveling thousands of kilometers from the Grotto of the Nativity in Bethlehem via Vienna in Austria, and , the light – in the form of a small lantern with a candle – has finally arrived in and will continue to be shared every day until February, throughout France and around the world.

The celebration began with a moment of emotion following the commitment of a chef from La Seyne-sur-Mer. The territorial delegate Florence and the cleophas* Isabelle then explained how they had brought light from Marseille to Toulon. Then, a very strong tribute was paid to Father Gilles who “worshiped this time of the light of peace”. The evening continued with the reading of the text of the prophet Jeremiah with a time of very warm discussion in the presence of Father Terrade. And finally, sharing light (with lanterns and candles) in order to “leave in peace with the light”.

“Carrying the light of peace from Bethlehem is to bear witness to the passage of light, of peace. You too can be a link in this chain of light that everyone can transmit”explains Laurence, member of the Scouts and Guides of France, Var territory.
