The University of Montreal is once again demonstrating its excellence in research in various fields, as evidenced by the renewals of Canada Research Chairs that have been announced. The vice-rector for research, discovery, creation and innovation, Marie-Josée Hébert, also took the opportunity to congratulate the holders of these chairs: “At the dawn of the new year and a few months before the end of my second term as vice-rector, I realize how privileged and proud I am to meet on a daily basis men and women who excel in their own way in their respective fields. It is thanks to their work that the University of Montreal is one of the best research universities in the world and that we are able to contribute to improving the living conditions of people in our country and beyond its borders. »
The main objective of the Canada Research Chairs Program is to recruit and retain the best researchers. The six chairs renewed this fall are part of the sectors of research excellence of the University of Montreal.
