For reasons still unknown, a motorist lost control of his vehicle this Thursday, December 19, 2024 in the early morning in the Vernet district of Perpignan. An investigation has been opened.
The 18-year-old young man who was seriously injured in a road accident this Thursday at dawn in the Moyen-Vernet district of Perpignan, has unfortunately died, confirms the Public Prosecutor Jean-David Cavaillé.
According to initial information, around 5:30 a.m., the motorist was driving near the Les Pêchers HLM residence when he, for an as yet undetermined reason, lost control of his vehicle which hit a wall with extreme violence.

The victim was treated by firefighters in a state of absolute emergency and evacuated to the hospital center where he succumbed to his injuries.
The young man, “known for driving without a license, was the only person involved at the time of the accident”, further specifies the prosecution which nevertheless opened an investigation for “involuntary manslaughter” in order to determine the exact causes and circumstances of this death. And this, based on the various analyzes and the autopsy of the deceased which must be carried out in the coming days.
