Bourges Fc, a club playing in National 2 (4th French Division), has formalized the arrival of Lamine Sané within its technical staff. The former Senegalese international defender will occupy the position of assistant coach alongside Romain Revelli, newly appointed head coach following the departure of Walid Achour.
Aged 36, Lamine Sané has 35 caps with the Senegal national team, with whom he played in the African Cup of Nations in 2012 and 2015. Born March 22, 1987 in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, he has the dual Senegalese and French nationality. On a professional level, his club career is marked by memorable stints at Girondins de Bordeaux, where he played 240 matches and won the Coupe de France in 2013, as well as at Werder Bremen (Germany), Orlando City (United States). -United) and Fc Utrecht (Netherlands). He retired in 2020, ending a storied playing career to focus on coaching.
Holder of a Uefa A diploma, Sané made his debut as head coach with the Lormont team (Regional 1) before joining the reserve team of Fc Libourne (Regional 2) during the 2023-2024 season. Under his leadership, Libourne had a remarkable season, finishing in a creditable second place. More recently, he joined the staff of the Senegal U17 National Team as assistant coach. He notably participated in the qualification of the Lion Cubs for the 2025 U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
