The suspect, a 36-year-old man, was arrested less than half an hour after the incident. In police custody, he indicated that he had dropped the victim off at the side of the road.

Residents of - (Alpes-Maritimes) helplessly witnessed a surreal scene on Wednesday afternoon. Around 3:30 p.m., at the corner of rue Colonel Driant and avenue Guy de Maupassant, a woman was deliberately hit by a motorist, in circumstances which remain unclear.

The crazy driver then got out of his vehicle to hit the unfortunate woman numerous times. “The blows were mainly concentrated on the face”details a police source. “She had a bloody face.”details another. After which the suspect forced the victim into the vehicle, despite the latter’s screams, and stormed off.

Still not identified after 24 hours

Several witnesses then notified emergency services. This is how a little half an hour later, the man was arrested in his car by the municipal police of Nice at Boulevard Comte de Falicon, near the access ramp to the motorway. A8. Unfortunately, the victim was no longer on board. Immediately placed in police custody at the Auvard barracks (the central police station in Nice), the suspect, aged 37, told the police that he had dropped her off somewhere on the side of the road.

The fact remains that, 24 hours after the events, the victim remains untraceable, in addition to not having been identified. For investigators, it is therefore urgent. Whether in the wild or held somewhere, the latter is, without a doubt, in a state of health which requires treatment as quickly as possible. The investigations were entrusted to the local Judicial Police Service (SLPJ 06).
