This year, the McDonald’s at the Atoll shopping center in Beaucouzé is involved in the “Becoming” project initiated by sailor Violette DORANGE. This young 22-year-old skipper, new godmother of the “Les Apprentis d’Auteuil” association, has decided to participate in the 10th edition of the Vendée Globe by dedicating all her efforts to the benefit of young people experiencing integration difficulties. An initiative to which many McDonald’s franchisees in the city of and its outskirts have not remained indifferent as it echoes the values ​​that drive them.

A young sailor with a future full of great promise

At only 22 years old, Violette DORANGE already has an impressive track record to her credit. She was part of the French dinghy sailing team, she crossed the Channel and the Strait of Gibraltar in an Optimist. She even participated in three editions of the Solitaire du Figaro where in 2022 she will manage to climb to tenth place. This year, the young sailor has set herself a major new challenge: to conquer the Vendée Globe.

In order to give even more weight to this adventure, she decided to devote it to an associative goal. To do this, she launched her project called “Becoming”. Without further ado, let’s set sail on this great initiative.

The Becoming project

Becoming is above all a societal project which relies on the notoriety of a major sporting event like the Vendée Globe to highlight a just cause. Aware that this race is a powerful vector of communication, Violette DORANGE decided to become the godmother of the association “Les Apprentis d’Auteuil”, which helps many young people experiencing integration difficulties. By putting all her efforts and talent during the race at the service of their fight, the sailor intends to inspire young people, restore their faith in the future and push them to believe in their dreams.

So far, several partners have joined forces with this adventure, starting with 130 McDonald’s restaurants.

A symbolic action for the McDonald’s Atoll in Beaucouzé and all the franchisees in Angers and its surroundings

The fight led by Violette finds a certain resonance with that pursued by the McDonald’s network. Indeed, the latter is the leading youth recruiter in . For the McDonald’s in Beaucouzé and many other franchisees in Angers and its outskirts (Angers St Serge, City Center, La Roseraie, Trélazé, Mûrs-Erigné, Ancenis, Les Portes d’Angers, Beaufort-en-Vallée)taking part in the “Becoming” project is therefore something that fits perfectly with the values ​​they defend on a daily basis. By involving their teammates and managers in the race alongside Violette, everyone intends to show even more their support for the integration and training of young people.

All the teams say they are very proud to support Violette and have been following the young skipper’s exploits very closely every day since she set sail on November 10 alongside the forty other sailors taking part in this tenth edition of the Vendée Globe. . Their support will remain unwavering until the big arrival scheduled for March 7, 2025.
