“Do what you know how to do and try to do it well” : Florian Saint-Macary and the entire Nouvelle(s) Scène(s) team have decided to stick to the “basic”as the first slips, artistic director of a Niortais spring of emerging music which will take place, in 2025, from Thursday March 13 to Sunday March 23. The fault is these uncertainties which strike the cultural world due to a “very complex political and economic context”.

In addition, the board of directors of the eponymous association, now chaired by Carine Gaignepain, was half renewed with “a large part of young people” : “A little more prudent and reasonable management” must allow them to “get their bearings”.
“Ensure the sustainability of the festival”, objective no. 1
The classics are there. Starting with the complete announcement of the poster made on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at midday directly on the social networks Facebook and Instagram at the same time as on the Nouvelle(s) Scène(s) website: the rapper Ile-de-France Jolagreen23 will be the driving force behind this sixteenth version with a total budget of €160,000 and which will mobilize around sixty volunteers.
“We made the choice, somewhat regretfully, to deliver an edition that does not take too many risks in order to ensure the sustainability of the festival,” develops Florian Saint-Macary. Which means that it was also necessary “cutting down on free concerts in bars”, a stroll relaunched in 2024 for the 15th anniversary with some 2,500 festival-goers in total.
The Hangar opening
In the city center of Niort, however, La Caña – the successor to the Entracte at the Moulin du Roc –, Hypsoline Kitchen and even the Villa Pérochon, in the spirit of openness desired by its director Philippe Guionie, will host free performances of ‘access. Constituting a warm-up unofficial last year, the date at the restaurant-bar Le Hangar joins the official program: meeting with Angevin Nerlov and Franco-Korean Miki, two artists evolving in a universe mixing song and electro-urban pop.
The two paid evenings and even nights at the “club” of the Scène nationale de Niort are renewed: Jolagreen23 will conclude the first 100% rap on Friday March 21, opened by the stage local Enfant Minuit – formerly Primo – before Baby Neelou and 8ruki. At the same time, another, with a more punk and rock aesthetic, will be held at Camji, with free participation: the Niortais Jù Gab will close it, after Droges, Jean and Treaks.
A Belgian surprise?
Five artists will perform the next day at the Moulin du Roc, including Clara Kimera, breakaway from the duo Agar Agar who passed through Nouvelle(s) Scène(s) in 2017: for Florian Saint-Macary, the Brussels quartet ECHT!, another group at the displayed that evening, “may be the great live discovery of the festival”.
Always for “strengthen the link with the territory”, a group will play in the Les Girandières senior residence in front of elderly people and children from the neighboring Mûriers crèche: this will be one of three concerts by Pocket, the project of the former drummer of Colors in the Street, Alexis Rimbault.
In the end, the artistic director of Nouvelle(s) Scène(s) counts twenty-two artists or combos, or around fifty musicians on stage: parity is respected and, like every year, “we have something for everyone.” Children’s boom, screening of a documentary film on the career of DJ Laurent Garnier and musical nap included.
