The draw for the 32nd finals of the Gambardella Cup took place this Thursday at midday. After eliminating Saint-Etienne (U19 Nationals, 1-1, 3-2 tab), FC Annecy (U18 R1) will once again receive elite training with the arrival of AJ Auxerre (U19 Nationals). The two clubs had already faced each other in this competition, in 2012 and 2023 with victories for the Burgundians each time (4-1, 3-1) including a goal from Trévis Dago, now on loan from Lille to the FCA , who was then playing at Auxerre.
The other Haut-Savoie club in the running, GFA Rumilly Vallières (U18 R1) will host Saint-Priest, also a resident of R1.
Heavy also for Aubenas and Gap
After qualifying (2-1) on home turf against Puy-en-Velay (two divisions above), Aubenas Sud-Ardèche, now last district representative, inherits Olympique Alès (League) to the occasion of the 32e of the Gambardella Cup final. The Alésiens will play their first meeting at the federal level after having been exempted during the previous round. On January 12, the Little Thumb of the competition will continue the most beautiful epic in its history at the Dugradus stadium.
The young Gapençais, who fell to FC Lyon in the previous round (1-0), will have a lot to do since they will host Andrézieux-Bouthéon, a National team. Gap Foot 05 is the last team from the District of the Alps still in the competition.
The meetings will take place on the weekend of January 11 and 12.
