All the combatant cards kept in the Departmental Archives of the Territoire de in the funds of the National Office of Combatants and War Victims were digitized during the year 2023 by the company Flashcopy from Wasselone.

The combatant’s card, created in 1926, offers a certain amount of assistance for veterans. To be eligible, you had to have fought for at least 90 days, survived the war and applied for it.

These cards concern soldiers domiciled in the Territoire de Belfort, born between 1843 and 1909 and cover the conflicts of the War of 1870 and the First World War.

Putting them online allows descendants and genealogy researchers to be able to put a face to these veterans, even if not all cards necessarily have a photo. The Internet user can thus carry out his search by specifying one or more of the following criteria: name and/or first name(s) of the person sought, date of birth, town of birth and department and/or country of birth.

This online release closes a year full of new features on the Departmental Archives portal, thanks to significant digitization work carried out internally with the ten-year tables of civil status for the entire department until 1972 and the registers of marriage publication of the town of Belfort until 1907, now accessible to all.

To access the search form, go to https://archives.territoiredebelfort.fr (“search” section, “access digitized funds”, “combatant cards”).
