During his stay, Mr. Diop plans to meet senior Senegalese officials, including President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, as well as leading economic players. Discussions will focus on strategies to promote agri-food, industry, infrastructure, digital technology and tourism, areas essential for the achievement of “Vision Senegal 2050”.
A visit is also planned to Madiba, the vaccinopôle of the Pasteur Institute in Dakar, a project supported by IFC via structured financing of $45 million. This center is a concrete example of IFC’s commitment to encouraging sustainable and innovative solutions in the country.
Mr. Diop will also speak with entrepreneurs operating in fields such as artificial intelligence, health and creative industries. He will reiterate IFC’s support for the startup ecosystem, the engine of digital transformation in Senegal.
This visit is a continuation of IFC’s record commitments in Senegal, which reached $615 million in the last fiscal year, contributing to projects in renewable energy, tourism, housing and agricultural value chains .
