In a press release published this Wednesday evening, the LFP disciplinary committee justified its decisions to sanction Nantes, ASSE and Stade Rennais behind closed doors.
The decision of the LFP disciplinary committee was eagerly awaited in Saint-Etienne, two weeks after the bursting of several dozen smoke bombs during the match against Olympique de Marseille, four days before welcoming the Marseille club a second time , but in the Coupe de France. Bad news for the Greens, the authority was harsh with the Saint-Etienne club with the closure of the Paret and Snella stands at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium for two closed matches. The stadium would nevertheless be 100% full against OM since the decision will only take effect from next Tuesday, December 24.
Stade Rennais was also singled out for similar reasons. Following the use of pyrotechnic devices during the match against ASSE on November 30, the Breton club was sentenced to a partial closed session with the closure of the Mordelles Basse stand at Roazhon Park. A sanction which will be applied against Olympique de Marseille in Ligue 1 the weekend of January 12. The LFP disciplinary committee also ruled on the FC Nantes case following the incidents against Le Havre on November 24. “After reading the investigation report, the Commission pronounces the following sanction: A partial closure of the Loire stand at the La Beaujoire stadium (already served as part of the precautionary measure) + Closure for a suspended match of the Loire stand at La Beaujoire stadium The sanction takes effect immediately » can we read in the official press release from the LFP this Wednesday evening.
