An accident involving two vehicles took place this Thursday, December 19 morning on the A50 motorway, near the Aubagne exit, towards Marseille. Although the incident did not cause serious injuries, it caused significant delays, completely paralyzing traffic in this strategic sector.
One lane neutralized, axes saturated
The collision led to the neutralization of the left lane, commonly known as the fast lane, making traffic particularly difficult. The Bouches-du-Rhône firefighters, who quickly intervened on site, secured the area, but the return to normal looks complicated.
The saturation is not limited to the A50: the secondary axes which converge there, such as the A501 and the A502, are also blocked. These two sections of motorway, respectively coming from Auriol/Roquevaire and La Ciotat, are experiencing completely saturated traffic, further aggravating the situation.
Avoid the area if possible
In these conditions, it is strongly recommended to avoid the area if your itinerary allows it. Drivers are advised to take alternative routes or delay their departure. The situation is likely to deteriorate in the coming hours, with a peak in slowdowns expected.
