It is a curious case which occupied the judicial court this week.

On Monday, Pierre-Guy Cellerier, Lyon celebrity and manager of Maison Cellerier and the Paul bakeries franchise, was judged alongside his wife Amélie Cottendin and a friend.

The trio was accused by a second-hand dealer, childhood friend of Pierre-Guy Cellerier, of having traumatized him during an interrogation.

In fact, the Cellerier couple were convinced that the second-hand dealer had stolen a gold Rolex watch, worth 35,000 euros, when he came to their home to evaluate some of their furniture. They therefore summoned him in November 2020 to their house in Collonges-au-mont-d’Or to cook him for three hours.

At the end of this difficult closed session, in which the third thief had also participated, the second-hand dealer admitted the facts. Although he was completely innocent, since the official investigation had discovered that the thief was in reality the cleaning lady, who has since been convicted.

The second-hand dealer explained that this heavy session had deeply affected him, and that it resulted in ITT: 21 days, and even hospitalization! His initial complaint for blackmail, kidnapping and premeditated violence was initially dismissed. Then he did it again, targeting violence in meetings.

The Celleriers’ lawyers showed judges this week that there had been no violence or coercion, and that any other person would have gotten up and left, rather than admit something they hadn’t done.

Pierre-Guy Cellerier, Amélie Cottendin and their friend were therefore released this Wednesday.
