Friday December 13, 2024, the Tourangelle binding workshop (ART) held its general meeting in its premises on rue Toulouse-Lautrec. In his moral report, President Michel Mollat stressed that “This season’s registrations were particularly numerous, partly thanks to participation in the day organized by the Tours Association House and led by Marie Rousseau.”
Among the new actions, the partnership with Dr Barbe, from the CHRU of Tours, was highlighted to produce bindings of hospital biographies, as well as the edition and distribution of the new ART membership card.
As he announced last year, Michel Mollat confirmed that after seven years of presidency, he was not a candidate for succession. Florine Lacoste, a 27-year-old young woman, takes over. At the club as an instructor for five years, Florine also provides five three-hour lessons per week. Holder of a CAP in bookbinding and gilding, supplemented by a course in restoration of old books and graphic documents, her objective is “to open this activity to young people and families, in order to perpetuate this ancient art”.
