Dakar, Dec 18 (APS) – Swimmers Adama Thiaw Ndir of the Armed Forces Sports Association (ASFA) and Aissatou Kaba Diallo of the Axa Maristes Residence Swimming Club (CNRAM) are Senegal swimming champions, ending the sports season 2024, with four gold medals each, according to a press release from the Senegalese Swimming and Safety Federation made public on Wednesday.
The Senegal individual swimming championships were held on December 15, 2024 in Dakar, in several events including the 100 meter backstroke, 200 meter backstroke, 100 meter breaststroke and 100 meter freestyle.
The 34-year-old swimmer, Adama Thiaw Ndir has dominated the Senegalese pools for several years, among men. Last year, he finished as the best Senegalese swimmer with four gold medals and one silver.
Adama Niane from the Dauphins swimming club is second with two gold medals, one silver and another bronze.
Ousseynou Diop, resident of ASFA, came in third position with two gold medals.
Among the girls, Aissatou Kaba Diallo stood out with four gold medals and three silver medals.
Tamara Aaliyah Quinio Kouyaté of the Atlantique Olympique Club is second with three gold medals and one silver.
Ndeye Thieufour Dieye of CNRAM, with one gold and one silver medal, finished third best swimmer of the season.
