Every day, at 6 p.m., one of the boxes on the life-size Advent calendar at Caen town hall is revealed. This Wednesday, December 18, 2024, Caen sport was in the spotlight.
SM Caen (football), Caen BC (basketball), Caen HB (handball) and HC Caen (ice hockey, the professional clubs that make the Calvados city shine came together for the occasion and to offer little big children beautiful gifts.

And behind window number 18, who better than the famous basketball announcer Pierre Salzmann-Crochet to liven up the evening? While the athletes went down on the zip line.
The Drakkars Ronan Quemener, Alexandre Mulle, Quentin Berthon and Marc-Antoine Pépin; The Vikings Jordan Allais, Allan Villeminot, Yannis Mancelle and Jean-Emmanuel Kouassi; CBC basketball players Antoine Rojewski and Pierre Hannequin; Malherbe defender Valentin Henry; Benjamin Lacroix-Desmazes (sitting volleyball) and Marion Joffle (extreme swimmer).
The mascots were present on the square, as were Kévin Koné (Caen BC), Godson Kyeremeh and Mathias Autret (SM Caen).

The ice hockey players from HC Caen were the first to launch onto the zip line to reach the square and distribute their gifts: tickets to see the Drakkars. William Marie
For around twenty minutes, the athletes took turns, with Caen HB and Caen BC who were also there. William Marie
For SM Caen, it was right-back Valentin Henry who launched himself into the air, accompanied by an elf. William Marie
Finally Marion Joffle (extreme swimmer) and Benjamin Lacroix-Desmazes (sitting volleyball, present at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games) concluded the surprise by taking their turn. William Marie
All the athletes then took a souvenir photo, with the mascots of SM Caen, HC Caen, Caen BC and Caen HB, as well as the mayor of Caen Aristide Olivier. William Marie
