PARIS – A taste of the holidays. The RATP has redecorated a metro station into a ski resort for the Christmas holidays, it announced in a press release published on its site this Wednesday, December 18. And this is not the only surprise from the Parisian transport authority for the end of the year.

A gondola, a ski simulator, snow-covered trees… the RATP promises a “immersion guarantee” in the mountains in a metro stop which was not chosen at random: Glacière, on line 6. The activities were accessible from this noon under the platforms of this aerial station, and will be until Friday evening but only between noon and 6 p.m.

As observed The Parisian who has been there, the gondola is actually a photocall and the fastest in the ski simulator (where the races are timed) can win a chocolate star. All attractions are free.

Snowball fight, Jingle Bells…

The Glacière station is not the only one transformed as Christmas approaches. Since December 15, the window of Pyramides station on line 14 has welcomed a new decor “fairy anime” In “a snowy amusement park atmosphere” like the windows of Galeries Lafayette. It will be visible until January 5.

On the same line, a snowball fight is projected on the platforms of Madeleine station, and from December 20, the famous Christmas carol Jingle Bells will be broadcast on all line 1. These two animations will also be present until January 5.
