Alstom will supply 35 additional trainsets for Île-de-France Mobilités, assembled in the Petite-Forêt and Crespin factories.
Another good news for Alstom. SNCF Voyageurs has just formalized an order for 35 new RER New Generation (RER NG) trainsets, for an amount of 520 million euros, entirely financed by Île-de-France Mobilités. This acquisition brings to 166 the total number of RER NG trains ordered since 2017, as part of a framework contract aimed at modernizing the RER D and RER E lines.
166 trains for Île-de-France in total
The RER NG, which began circulating on line E in November 2023, will be gradually deployed on line D by the end of 2024. Designed to meet the specific needs of the Ile-de-France network, this innovative equipment is assembled in Alstom’s factories in Petite-Forêt and Crespin with the contribution of seven other French sites.

This double-decker train stands out for its increased capacity and accessibility. It integrates an open architecture, platforms adapted for people in wheelchairs and three distinct spaces to optimize passenger flows. Passenger comfort has been enhanced thanks to air conditioning, LED lighting, USB sockets and information screens.
An increased presence
With a maximum speed of 140 km/h and increased performance in acceleration and braking thanks to its eight motor bogies, the RER NG marks a new stage in improving regularity and user experience.
