In pain, the OL U19s found a smile again this Wednesday by beating Mulhouse 3 to 2. They put an end to their series of defeats.
Sometimes largely dominant, the OL U19s still trembled to beat Mulhouse this Wednesday. However, after a very timid start to the game on their part, the Rhone residents made a first difference a little before the half-hour mark. First of all, Alejandro Gomes Rodríguezwho remained with the group after the Gambardella on Sunday, opened the scoring from the penalty spot following a foul on Daryll Benlahlou (0-1, 26e).
This same Benlahlou doubled the lead four minutes later to make the score 2-0. But while we thought Olympique Lyonnais were on course for an easy victory, the Haut-Rhin team came back just before the break with a new penalty (1-2, 45th). Returning from the locker room, Rémi’s teammates Himbert put their foot back on the accelerator, obtaining several situations. It was the striker who finally scored the third goal, concluding a remarkable individual action from Rodríguez (1-3, 55th).
Vacation before a shock
The young 16-year-old footballer has also been particularly visible, a good thing after his achievement last weekend. On the other side, the Alsatians seemed to be in difficulty, before being revived by a double opportunity (67th). Yann Llahona managed to intervene, but he was unable to do anything about the second reduction in the opponent’s score in added time (2-3, 90th + 4).
At the final whistle, there was a sigh of relief from the Gones, who traveled without their coach Samy bagscurrently in training. This success acquired during a late match allows OL to end their series of three consecutive losses. Still 9th in the championship, he moved away from the red zone and above all, stuck back to 7th (Dijon) and 8th (Andrézieux-Bouthéon). Time for vacation now for the Lyonnais, who will return to competition on Sunday January 19 by hosting Sochaux, first in the ranking.
