In the apartment that Axel G. shares with his mother near Saint-Jean-du-Var in Toulon, the police found strips of cannabis resin, weed and cocaine, i.e. nearly four kilos. of drugs. It is “ anonymous information“, according to the established formula, which put the police officers of the anti-crime brigade (Bac) on his trail.
Arrested on December 10 at 3:20 p.m., the suspect, aged 23, remained silent on the identity of the sponsor of the trafficking of which he was the “nurse” (responsible for storing the drugs). He also refused to unlock his cell phone and, shaking like a leaf, nearly fainted during interrogations. Police custody lasted 96 hours.
Investigators also got their hands on Noam M., a childhood friend. “ We’ve known each other since kindergarten…“He was not more loquacious than Axel G., reserving his statements for the judges.” I sort of have a sword of Damocles hanging over my head that forced me to do these things.“, he will tell the magistrates. “ A debt was invented for me…“
14,000 euros in one week
Noam M., holder of a higher technician certificate (BTS) “negotiation and digitalization of customer relations”, put his skills to the benefit of this “Ubershit” type traffic. “Everything that is marketing is really me”he summarizes.
The young man operated an account on the Snapchat messaging application from which customers placed orders. “I made the films and photos at [Axel].” Consumers were delivered by an intermediary who was not identified.
The traffic would have generated a turnover of 14,000 euros in one week. “I had been doing this for two weeks”assures Noam M. who kept an account sheet and sent a daily report to the sponsor. “It’s all good, Boss.”
Firm prison sentence and suspended sentence revoked
At the hearing of the chamber of immediate appearances this Monday, the prosecution demanded sentences of three and four years in prison. The defense lawyers, Bertrand Pin and Christophe Hernandez, tried to put the role of each person into perspective, “far from being central”.
Axel G., the nanny, received three years in prison, two of which were suspended on probation (care and work obligations). The suspended sentence granted during a previous conviction was revoked (six months). The court also ordered a stay ban in Toulon for three years.
Noam M. is sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, one year of which is suspended on probation. Also a repeat offender, the court gave a five-month suspended prison sentence, the other “Sword of Damocles” which weighed on him.
