The Grenoble police officers are still seeking to establish the circumstances in which a young man of 19 years old – and not around forty years old as written on the basis of the information initially communicated – died on the night of 10 to 11 last December on the A 480 motorway.
As the Dauphiné Libéré indicated on the morning of December 11 on its website, this Grenoble student was traveling in the Grenoble/Sisteron direction on the handlebars of an electric scooter when he was hit by a heavy goods vehicle, around 1 a.m. , at the height of interchange number 5 which serves Rondeau. Significant emergency resources were dispatched to the scene after the accident, where the victim – very seriously injured – was then in cardiorespiratory arrest. Unfortunately, she could not be resuscitated.
The driver of the truck, physically unharmed but very psychologically shocked, was taken care of by the emergency services but his state of health did not require transport to hospital.
Since then, the police have formally identified the deceased young man whose friends indicated they had lost sight of him that night, after a festive evening.
Despite a call for witnesses broadcast the day after the incident, we still do not know why he took the expressway despite the ban on using a scooter and the danger that this initiative represented.
Anyone who may be able to provide information to investigators is asked to contact them on 04 76 60 40 40.
