A woman, suspected of having stabbed her in a bar in Cagnes-sur-Mer, is still actively sought.
In circumstances which remain unclear at this stage, a brawl exploded in a bar in Cagnes-sur-Mer, between Nice and Antibes (Alpes-Maritimes), during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, we learned Le Figaro at midday from a police source, confirming information from Nice-Morning. A police officer was notably assaulted.
The events occurred around midnight at the Belgian Attitude, on Boulevard Maréchal-Juin, a stone’s throw from the sector police station. A very agitated woman then entered the establishment alone, provoking customers and then the bar manager. The tension quickly rose, to the point that the suspect armed herself with a knife that she was carrying with her. The manager was stabbed in the abdomen and a customer was stabbed in the bicep. Luckily, the wounds are only superficial.
Fight against a background of alcohol
Warned and quickly dispatched to the scene, agents from the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) were attacked by a few individuals present in the bar, obviously very drunk. One of them punched a police officer in the face while he and his colleagues were trying to arrest the suspect. In the crowd, she managed to escape. Quickly identified, she was still actively sought on Wednesday afternoon.
The manager and the injured customer were transported to hospital by firefighters. The individual who hit a civil servant was, for his part, placed in police custody for “violence against a person holding public authority”. The investigation was entrusted to the Cagnes-sur-Mer police station.
