On the evening of Thursday December 19, 2024, snowfall is forecast in Isère, in plaine as in the Alpes.
Weather forecasts indicate that snowflakes will fall for several hours in different areas of the department.
Snowflakes south of Grenoble
The first snowflakes should fall late in the afternoon this Thursday, December 19 south of Grenoble. Municipalities such as Villard-de-Lans, La Mûre, Valjouffrey will be affected.
During the night, snowfall should be seen near Theys and Bourg d’Oisans.
The snow, which first falls above 2000 m, falls during the day, around 1200 to 1400 m in the afternoon, then down to 500 m the following night on the massifs of east and the Massif Central with possible bleaching above 700 to 800m.
Note that snowfall will continue during the morning of Friday, December 20.
Snow in the Alps
In the Alpine massifs, snowfall should be heavier during the night of Thursday December 19 to Friday December 20.
It is at the level of Collet d’Allevard that the accumulations will be the greatest in Isère.
