Carbonne, a 27-year-old from Hérault, sings and raps a sunny melancholy that appeals to several generations. His career took off this summer thanks to the hit “Imagine”. He is a hit all over France and gave on Tuesday, the first of his two concerts in Montpellier, in a conquered Rockstore.
“We were there, in 2019, at Rockstore, where we were always well received, we played opening acts…And there, we did two full concerts as headlining acts! It proves that I did the right thing by being there believe !”
The pop and hip-hop singer Carbonne did not hold back his pleasure, Tuesday evening, for the first of the two dates in Montpellier of his triumphant tour “Par nous soi” which is a hit all over France with even European forays.
He also admitted “a little stress” in front of his audience “and many well-known faces” as he made no secret of it, family and friends all being present.
What a journey for the 27-year-old Mézois who cut his teeth and worked on his freestyles, tirelessly, for years, at the Hot Sauce studio, rue du Cheval-Vert, just a few meters from the Rockstore.

He’s doing it again this Wednesday evening, still at the Rockstore – so it’s full – but he’s announced a date at Paloma, in Nîmes, at the beginning of April, another venue close to his heart, he said.
