The National Agency for Civil Aviation and Meteorology (Anacim) published this Tuesday evening the weather forecasts for the next few hours. This bulletin reports dust and freshness expected throughout the territory.

“Advisory of dust and freshness
Dust episode from December 17 to 21, 2024
A dust episode is underway in the northern half; it will affect the entire country, and will increase during the day of Thursday, December 19 across the entire territory.
More particularly,
* In the North and Center (Saint-Louis, Podor, Matam, Linguère, Louga, Thies, Dakar, Diourbel, Kaolack): concentrations will be higher and consequently visibility will be reduced.
* In the South (Kolda, Ziguinchor, Sédhiou): the effects will be less marked but will be felt intermittently.
The dust will begin to gradually dissipate from Saturday
December 21, 2024.
Drop in temperatures expected from December 18 to 23, 2024

During this period, a significant drop in temperatures is expected throughout Senegal:
* In the North (Saint-Louis, Podor, Linguère, Matam) and Center-West (Louga, Thies, Diourbel, Kaolack, Dakar): the cooling will be more marked and the nights will be particularly cool, with temperatures sometimes dropping below 17°C.
* South (Kolda, Ziguinchor, Sédhiou): a moderate drop is expected, however the nights will remain cooler than usual.
