Mixed results for the Pôle Espoirs against the DFCO
Our Pôle Espoirs teams hosted the neighboring club Dijon FCO last Wednesday December 11 at Astragale: video review and reactions from coaches David LINARES and Mehdi SMAH after these last two matches for the year 2024.
P19: 3-0 victory against DFCO
“For this match against DFCO, our young people were keen to translate the efforts made during training and various previous matches into a victory. It was therefore with a bang that they started this match, as evidenced by the first clear opportunity (1′) with the strike ofEliott GARNIER on a service of Manoah MARQUES DA SILVApushed back by the opposing goalkeeper, author of a very good match. Our team, well established defensively, prevented the opponent from building, was able to recover balls and create opportunities in transition, like Timéo PERRIER (16′). Following a recovery of Dehan FOUQUET, Kenji FALLEN MIYAHARA opens the scoring (21′) with a nice shot from 22m (1-0). Other opportunities will follow one another in this first half including a strike for the DFCO which will end on the crossbar (30′). The second half will be more prolific with two goals scored by Ilyas DEMIRCI (59’) et Paul COLIN (77′). A complete match for our U14s and a deserved victory to close 2024. Next match on January 15, 2025 in Lyon against OL!
P18: 3-1 defeat against DFCO
For this friendly match finally played at Astragale against DFCOthe P18 had almost a full complement. Only missing Maxence DODET which is still undergoing rehabilitation before a gradual resumption with the group at the start of 2025. The match took place in a very good state of mind between 2 playing teams on the Astragale synthetic turf. We faced a team from DFCO reworked with trial players and players from different categories. For this match, we decided to change the offensive style of play to try to bring a little more percussion than during our last meeting against Pôle LAURA. The speed of Mattéo SAMMARITANO andEvan RENAUD should allow us to unbalance the opposing defense with a reinforced midfield.
The opening score of DFCO intervenes at a weak time where we are too wait-and-see defensively. Indeed, the opponent literally pierces us full-on in the middle of several stunned players before going to deceive our goalkeeper too easily Axel PAUTRAT left to his own devices. This first goal had the merit of awakening the enthusiasm of the pole players who quite logically equalized just before the break via Mattéo SAMMARITANO on a quick attack.
The 2nd half was very balanced between 2 teams who in turn missed opportunities to go ahead. Unfortunately, on an innocuous action on the right lane, the opposing attacker freed himself too easily from the marking before carrying out a tense cross which our goalkeeper Louis LALLEMAND has the clumsiness of pushing back into the goals of an opposing attacker who just has to push her to the back. Our young players will finally concede a 3rd goal after trying to come back to the score on another damaging restart error. At the end of the match, the incoming players tried to bring a boost of energy but the score will no longer evolve due to lack of offensive weight.
In the end, this new 3-1 defeat clearly illustrates all the work that remains to be done by our young people to learn from their mistakes and move forward for our next match, which will pit us against OL on January 15 at Lyon.
