“The African Union Development Agency – NEPAD (AUDA-NEPAD) has announced a historic collaboration with the Government of Senegal aimed at strengthening the country’s health and skills development sectors through a tailor-made program of health initiatives,” he said.

He took part in the international workshop on the strategic engagement of health centers and skills development.

On this occasion, he noted the development of “a personalized implementation roadmap of Senegal’s health priorities, describing clear and achievable results until 2025”. According to him, “the choice of Senegal is explained by, among other things, the achievement of maturity 3 of its pharmaceutical regulatory agency”. “This is an extremely important plan which will require the participation of all stakeholders, whether industrialists, laboratories, the central State, economic players, the private sector, civil society,” he said. he pointed out.

He recalled that in Senegal, the State has a very clear vision, with the national transformation agenda “Vision Senegal 2050”. “Beyond this vision, we have, for its implementation, a national plan to revive the local pharmaceutical industry (…),” he said. According to him, this shows that “Senegal is putting in place a solid system to be able to launch its local pharmaceutical production. (…)”. “(…) we are working to establish local industries. Today we have seven with more being installed. This dynamic will strengthen,” he announced, emphasizing the need to strengthen the capacities of human resources in order to succeed in this challenge.

To this end, Mr. Mbengue called for the mobilization of financing, through endogenous resources. “I hope that the 24 products that will be selected as part of this plan will help to effectively combat several diseases. I would like to call on everyone to invest in the execution of this plan,” he said.
