Once again, the city of was the scene of extreme violence, illustrating the growing difficulties for traders to carry out their activity in a climate of insecurity. The Le Monroe bar, located at Place Jules-Ferry, was targeted on the night of December 16 to 17, 2024. A brutal altercation took place there before degenerating into clashes with the police, leading to the intervention of the RAID and several arrests.

A night of violence at Monroe

It all starts at 2:11 a.m. Three individuals, already present in the establishment a few hours earlier, return to the closed bar to ask an employee if he has found a lost phone. Quickly, the exchange turns into aggression. The 25-year-old employee and his father, who came to accompany him, were severely beaten. In the images captured by video surveillance, we hear the victims shouting: “We don’t have your phone”, to no avail. Four minutes of unbearable violence, during which other customers were also injured, including a woman hit by a bottle.

The attackers then fled in a car with a Luxembourg license plate, pursued by the anti-crime brigade. Their run ends at the Plœmeur Traveler camp, where shots are exchanged with the police around 4 a.m.

The day after these events, the RAID intervened to secure the camp and carry out searches. Two individuals, already known to the police for multiple offenses, are arrested. Two weapons, one of which could have been used in the shooting against the police, were also seized. A third suspect is still actively sought.

Last September, the same establishment had already been ransacked during clashes between football fans, resulting in more than €22,000 in damage. But this establishment owner is not the only one to be fed up. Many of them notice that the climate is deteriorating from year to year, due in particular to the arrival of new populations, and a delusional social housing policy led by the left in for decades. But also a general wildness, a consequence of ideological leftism distilled in schools, with educational consequences for children. Today we are only seeing the beginning of the consequences for Brittany.
