Historic first victory in the European Cup

The continue to write their history with this very first victory, 43-19, in the European Cup on Saturday at La Rabine against Gloucester, for this second day of the Challenge Cup.

The first ten minutes were completely crazy with four tries scored, including three for RC Vannes.

It was Enzo Benmegal who crossed the line first in the first minute for his return to Rabine, imitated a few minutes later by Michael Ruru.

Gloucester international center Chris Harris also responded by scoring but Ruru still scored twice to bring the score to 19-7 after only ten minutes of play! An incredible start in a sold-out Stade de la Rabine for the 19th affiliate times.

The score ultimately remained until the break.

From the start of the second half, the scenario repeated itself with a better start by the Bretons and it was Enzo Benmegal who also scored a double with a spectacular try in the corner. A fourth try scored synonymous with an offensive bonus for the Vannes residents.

The Bretons scared themselves a little by conceding, in quick succession, two tries by Gareth Blackmore then Jacob Morris (26-19, 56th minute). A short-lived scare as Karl Chateau and Cyril Blanchard scored the fifth and sixth Vannes tries following two carried balls (66′ and 71′, 40-19).

A great reaction after the defeat in Georgia which puts our Blue and White back in the race for qualification. See you next Saturday, January 11 for the continuation of this competition with the Edinburgh reception at La Rabine.
