Experts agree that people tend to pack too much stuff, so think about what you’ll actually need and check your bags if you can. Here are tips for packing your luggage:

  • Know the limits (number, dimensions, weight) that apply to your baggage and respect them, whether it is checked baggage or carry-on baggage.
  • Write your name and contact details on a tag placed inside checked baggage as well as on an exterior baggage tag. So, in the event that the tag on your baggage comes off, the information on the tag inside will allow you to be found and returned your baggage.
  • Be sure to store your keys, medications, and valuables (like cash and electronics) in a carry-on bag that can fit under the seat in front of you.
  • Don’t forget to check pre-board checkpoint requirements, including liquid restrictions, keeping gifts unwrapped, and more.

5. Arrive at the airport on time and allow plenty of time to move around the terminals.

The Air Canada app provides recommended arrival times and terminal information, as well as three key steps to get you to your destination quickly:

  • Step 1 – Go to a self-service kiosk to print your tag and attach it to your baggage.
  • Step 2 – Check your baggage at the drop-off point.
  • Step 3 – Head to security and the boarding gate to relax before boarding.

6. Travel with an AirTag or other Find My network accessory in your checked baggage.
