This is an unmissable event for hairdressing enthusiasts: the Trophyincluding the 10e edition took place on November 17.

Candidates, students, apprentices, employees and craftsmen from across the region took part in the hairdressing and beauty competitions. Among the competitors, a Gourdonnaise made an impression by winning 1st place in the competition: Lalie Alonsoapprentice hairdresser at the hair salon “With silver scissors».

What is your background?

Lalie Alonso: I’m 20 years old, and I’ve been an apprentice at Silver Scissors in Gourdon for a year. I’m starting my second year of CAP. I want to become a hairdresser. I have a traditional school career, I went up to the general Baccalaureate. I did a year of sociology at university. I didn’t like it at all, so I always liked the hairstyle and gravitated towards it. I still preferred to pass my baccalaureate, but this disappointment in college was the opportunity to take the plunge into hairdressing.

What made you take the competitive exam step?

Julia, my boss, likes it a lot and has done quite a few competitions and knows the industry well, she had already done some. In addition, Laure, who works at the salon, was also in the world of competitions and had also won them in the past. So, last year, I tried. Just like this year when they trained me a lot to present myself for the Albi trophy.

How did the preparations go?

Julia helped me, she advised me and helped me to create the bun, and I received the same models as last year and so, for all the training, they helped me and they gave me corrected. There is the hairstyle of course, but there is also the whole environmental aspect which plays on the competition, the model, the outfits, the makeup, etc. It’s work beyond hairdressing, beyond hair. The theme we chose was “married” but in a country in the world. I chose “bride of India” and I think it all paid off, because I finished 1ʳᵉ.

How does it feel to be 1st in the competition at 20 years old?

It’s nice, it shows that when you work, you achieve what you want. And it helps you gain confidence and experience too. Telling yourself that ultimately, the path you have chosen is the right one. To confirm the voice of the profession.

What are your future plans?

It’s mainly about opening my own hair salon, having my own business, being independent. But for the moment, a big thank you to Julia and Laure, because they helped me a lot, they supported me and they gave me a lot of things. Even beyond the competition. I also thank my model, because she is a great support and she gave a lot of her time.

Reaction from Julia, owner of the hair salon “Aux Scissors d’Argent”

“Participating in a hairdressing competition requires hours of training for a final result that leaves no room for guesswork, everything must be managed, adjusted to the millimeter for a perfect final result. It’s a lot of investment and work. For my part, it is a great satisfaction to have an apprentice who wins, through hard work and will. A real pleasure to see the next generation in the profession and motivated young people in the world of hairdressing and competitions. This makes you want to support them and get involved alongside them. For my part, I started with Laure who knows the competition environment very well, because it was she who introduced me to the competition and today, I pass on what I received, in a way. Winning a competition is a guarantee of quality and above all of know-how and recognition of the profession. »
