Two victories for the Montalbanais before the end of year celebrations.
East Pool (4th day). Cavaillon rugby league-Pandas 2: 28-39.
Team 2 of the Pandas managed to win with forceps on the field of a very tough team from Cavaillon, in this Eastern group clash. It was only in the 13th minute that the first try of the game was scored by Rémi Viandier, the Montalbanese captain (2-6). The Pandas get some fresh air with a try scored from the restart by Abassi, transformed by Vick (2-12). But Cavaillon has resources and at half-time, the Pandas are narrowly ahead (18-22). At the restart, Montauban regains a little distance, before Cavaillon comes back on the heels of the Pandas (28-29). The Montalban wall remains firmly in place, notably thanks to the judicious tactical choices of coach Régis Thomas. Two minutes from the end, deliverance finally comes for the Pandas, thanks to Alain Desnoues who scores a try, converted by Vick (28-35). The locals are stunned and Peter Vick, again, will take the opportunity to score a try at the horn (28-39). In the end, a founding victory for this rapidly progressing Montalbanese team, which demonstrated great mental abilities. Another room, another atmosphere for the Pandas first team who played their offensive game without any particular flavor on the Saint-Jory Lions pitch, too tight to exist in this meeting. An official score blocked at 60 points as now required by FFR XIII.
