The President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, carried out this morning the official inauguration of the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Diamniadio. This new hotel establishment enriches the country’s reception infrastructure and is part of a dynamic of promoting tourism, a key sector of the national economy.
With a total cost of 13 billion CFA francs, this international hotel has 134 rooms meeting the most demanding standards. Beyond its tourism vocation, the project helped generate 150 direct jobs, illustrating the concrete impact of investments in creating opportunities for Senegalese youth and the private sector.

During the ceremony, President Faye recalled his ambition to make tourism an essential engine of economic growth, in accordance with the Senegal 2050 Agenda. According to him, the Courtyard by Marriott hotel constitutes a strategic lever to position Senegal as a privileged destination for business tourism, major cultural meetings and international sports competitions.
The Head of State welcomed this achievement as a strong sign of investors’ confidence in Senegal. He invited economic actors to continue their efforts to further boost the tourism sector and strengthen related infrastructure, essential to attract a greater number of visitors and investors.
