Swedish giant Trelleborg launches a new industrial unit in Morocco

The company Trelleborg, world leader in polymer solutions, launched work on its new industrial unit for the manufacturing of sealing systems for the aerospace sector on December 17, 2024, in Midparc.

The event took place in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Ryad Mezzour, the Governor of the province of Nouaceur, Mr. Jalal Benhayoun, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Mr. Taoufik Moucharraf, from the Director General of CRI Casablanca-Settat, Mr. Salmane Belayachi, from the President of the Aerospace Business Unit, Mr. Gordon Roper, from the President of Midparc, Mr. Hamid Benbrahim Andaloussi, and directors of the company.

With an investment of nearly 106 MDH (€10.2 M) which will ultimately contribute to creating 150 to 200 jobs, this project will enable the development of new capabilities in the local aerospace value chain, thus responding to the Kingdom’s strategy aimed at improving the rate of local integration of the sector.

This investment project is part of the development of the Boeing ecosystem in Morocco and follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Moroccan State and the company TRELLEBORG, on the sidelines of the Marrakech Air Show 2024 which took place held from October 30 to November 3, 2024.

On this occasion, Mr. Ryad Mezzour underlined: “This factory introduces a new capacity which will considerably accelerate the integration of the Kingdom into the global aerospace supply chain. It will improve the competitiveness of local suppliers and create highly qualified jobs. And to add: This investment marks a historic moment in the opening of the Moroccan market to Swedish aerospace companies and a key step in our collaboration with Boeing, by strengthening the aircraft manufacturer’s sourcing from local aeronautical players.
