Under the presidency of Jean-Michel Grignon, president of the Deux-Sèvres fishing federation, around a hundred members gathered on Saturday November 30, 2024 at the Domaine des Loges in Parthenay for a busy agenda.

With its 46 member associations and nearly 19,000 members across the department, the Deux-Sévrienne federation maintains its dynamism through its enthusiasts.

Price increase

On today's agenda, and as a priority, the price of the fishing license for the year 2025 which is increasing. It will cost 112 euros (two euros more than in 2024) for an interfederal card (allowing fishing in other departments) and 86 euros (plus one euro) for a departmental card.

Various points such as the maintenance of federal lands, signage and fishing leases were discussed.

The president wanted to welcome “the spirit of camaraderie and mutual respect” members and to use the formula of “committed fisherman” for the preservation of resources. As an aside, Jean-Michel Grignon specifies: “We are totally dependent on the climate which can have consequences on access to the banks or the pollution problems that we encounter more and more often. We are very attentive to climate issues. »

Concerning the more local aspect, Jean-Luc Tréhorel, eighth deputy mayor of Parthenay, mentioned in the preamble a partnership with the departmental federation for a future “fishing course” at the Parthenay leisure center.
