The accident occurred this Wednesday, December 11 in the morning. A delivery truck violently hit an electrical pole on departmental road 53, near the town of Canisy, at a place called Le Hardichon. The photo published in the middle of the day by the Manche prefecture is impressive: the vehicle literally crashed into the obstacle. Trailer and windshield were pulverized by the impact.

The circumstances of the accident and the condition of the truck driver have not yet been communicated. In addition to around ten firefighters, gendarmes were also deployed on site to stop traffic at the accident site and allow agents from Enedis, the electricity network manager, to work in complete safety.

Around ten surrounding homes were reportedly without power. On its website, Enedis indicated at the start of the afternoon that the incident was still “in progress”.
