An envelope of 4 million francs, from the cantonal waste management fund, is allocated to this system, explains a press release. “This funding will not weigh on the state budget,” the canton of Jura said on Tuesday.
Households and businesses, the main contributors to the fund, will directly benefit from projects aimed at reducing their consumption of resources, their waste production and their ecological footprint. The first call for projects will be officially launched on January 22 in Delémont.
The terms of the call and the selection criteria will be detailed during this meeting. Furthermore, the Re! network, bringing together players in the citizen circular economy, is currently being created. In this context, an online questionnaire was launched to better understand the perceptions and practices regarding the circular economy among the Jura population.
The results will help guide future actions based on identified needs. Survey participants will take part in a draw to win gift vouchers valid in local establishments involved in the circular economy.
