We warn you: the ringing may be very loud. But don't panic, this is just a large-scale exercise

The authorities will carry out a large-scale test in Puy-de-Dôme. A civil security exercise is being organized this Thursday on an industrial site in Saint-Éloy-les-Mines. The “Special Intervention Plan” will be deployed on the Rockwool company site. Objective of this exercise: to test the operational response in the event of an industrial accident. A security perimeter will be set up around the company, with the arrival of emergency vehicles as in a real situation.

Siren and telephone alarm

For the exercise to be complete, the Rockwool company sirens will be triggered. The test is scheduled to last between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. this Thursday. Obviously, the sirens can be heard around the town.

In addition, a citizen alert system will be tested on this occasion. A notification will be sent to all smartphones located in the town of Saint-Éloy-les-Mines and equipped with 4G or 5G. The message will be accompanied by a very loud ringtone. The word “exercise” will be clearly indicated on the alert notification. Don't panic, no action is required from you. You will not be asked to take shelter as in a real situation.

Note that the sound level of the ringtone is very loud and cannot be stopped. You have to wait for the notification to end so that it stops by itself.

The FR-Alert system has already been tested in other departments in . This can be used in cases of great danger for the population: terrorist attack, industrial accident, natural disaster, etc. It was notably deployed locally last October during the floods in Haute-.
