A happy ending in a disappearance caseit's always a relief. For family, friends, all loved ones and even for the country as a whole, this type of event keeps the population in suspense.
This is what has just happened with Morgane, this young 13-year-old Breton who had not given any sign of life since Monday November 25, 2024. An important name gendarmes and investigators have been mobilized over the last two weeks to find her as quickly as possible.
She was at the FJT
At 7:15 a.m., she left the family home in Pabu near Guingamp, in Côtes-d'Armor. She had never boarded the bus to take her to college, where she is enrolled in 4th grade.e. Without money, spare belongings, without food: what had become of her since then? An investigation into a worrying disappearance was immediately opened under the authority of the Saint-Brieuc public prosecutor's office and its prosecutor Nicolas Heitz.
The good news therefore came at the end of the morning, this Tuesday, December 10, 2024: Morgane was found safe and sound… in the Manche, in Coutances!
Morgane was found by soldiers from the Rennes research section. She was in a home for young workers (FJT) in this city. She will be quickly examined by a doctor and will be interviewed by investigators.
The person who hosted him, a 21-year-old young man from Rennes, was immediately placed in police custody of arrest, kidnapping, sequestration of a minor under 15 years old. According to information from our colleagues at Telegramthe man was known to police services and registered in the register of perpetrators of sexual or violent offenses (FIJAIS).
If she is doing well physically, in what psychological state where is the schoolgirl? We will undoubtedly know more during the press conference given by prosecutor Nicolas Heitz.
The establishment temporarily closed
In Coutances, the mayor Jean-Dominique Bourdin learned the news late in the morning during a phone call from his director of solidarity. “Finding Morgane is good news, bringing great relief to his family and friendshe reacted to the numerous media who arrived on site, including La Presse de la Manche. The FJT will be temporarily closed to outsiders to protect residents and agents, and avoid the influx of curious people. »
It’s stressful, of course, for staff and residents alike. It is understandable that this is an unusual event which can bring stress. A psychological support unit will be set up for agents and an information meeting with a psychologist will be organized for residents.
The mayor declined to comment on the ongoing investigation, leaving the prosecution to provide answers.
According to the first magistrate, “the admission protocols to the Young Workers’ Home are relevant and respected, and there is no reason to review them at the moment. I made this decision to close the establishment, to filter entries more precisely, to prevent agents and residents from being bothered by people who have nothing to do with the FJT.”
