Villeneuve-sur-Lot: a new life for the former hotel-restaurant “L’épicurien”

the essential
The historic building on avenue Lazare-Carnot, opposite the old Villeneuve station, is currently being transformed.

The old station area is in full swing. Particularly near the former hotel-restaurant “L’Epicurien”. Craftsmen and large trucks are busy in this old building on avenue Lazare-Carnot. Closed for years, this historic establishment, which operated alongside the Terminus in the heyday, will be reborn but in another form.

A new life for this place which has seen hundreds and hundreds of Villeneuve epicureans over the years. The last business was run by Xavier Roufast, with Cyril Lissandreau in the kitchens. Before being known as “L’Epicurien”, it was “La Plum d’or” which made the reputation of this address on avenue Lazare-Carnot.

Around twenty apartments

The signage on the facades is still there – notably the “two stars” at the intersection of Rue des Silos. It will soon be ancient history. The workers have taken over the premises, and there is work to be done: the twenty rooms which made up the hotel will be transformed into as many apartments. We imagine that there will be both T2s and studios – the building is ideally located for students, with the Campus being less than 5 minutes away on foot. The two-story building also has a large terrace.

Next step for the project leaders, that of the purchase of the adjoining building, rue des Silos, which will be transformed into garages for future tenants. Even if the surrounding area has plenty of parking spaces, you should not interfere with neighboring businesses. See you in several months for the final result and the resurrection of a wasteland on the old station square.
