Furious after the motion of censure which prevented the vote on the 2025 budget in which 400 million euros in emergency aid was to be granted to them, young Girondin farmers wrote to the prefect.
The young farmers of Gironde (JA 33) wrote it in black and white in a letter sent Monday to prefect Étienne Guyot: state agents are no longer welcome on their farms. Furious after the motion of censure voted by the RN and LFI – which overthrew the government and suspended the vote on the 2025 budget which planned to grant them 400 million euros in emergency aid, the JA 33 evoke a “feeling of betrayal and abandonment”.
In a context “uncertainty”, without guarantee of seeing the aid promised to them included in the next 2025 finance bill and while an agreement on Mercosur has just been concluded by the EU against their will, Girondin farmers therefore refuse “that controls continue to be imposed on their farms”. They therefore ask the prefect of Gironde to suspend them until the State is able “to honor its commitments and respond concretely to the legitimate demands of farmers”.
Evoking “the distress, anger and total incomprehension of the entire agricultural profession”the National Federation of Farmers' Unions in Gironde (FNSEA 33) joins this JA 33 approach. “We cannot tolerate that the nation's elected officials play with our lives and our income”thus scathing the union, calling to save French agriculture.
