Michel Tschan takes over the town hall in Corgémont

With thirty votes in advance, it was ultimately Michel Tschan who won the race for mayor of Corgémont. At the end of the second round of the election held on Sunday, the candidate and current municipal councilor UDC emerged victorious by obtaining 320 votes. His opponent Vincent Musolino, from the CORGÉ citizen movement, collected 290. The participation rate rose to 52.5%. It was 54% in the first round.
Confidence for the future
Michel Tschan will therefore succeed the current mayor Denis Bessire – from the Alliance employees and independents group and who did not seek a new mandate – on 1is January. The winner of the day thus allows the UDC to regain the town hall. Remember that before the arrival of Denis Bessire in 2021, the position had been occupied for 16 years by the agrarian Etienne Klopfenstein.
“I am satisfied with the result,” smiles Michel Tschan. As president of the local section of the UDC, he of course welcomes this return of the party to the town hall. “But the work is not only carried out by the mayor, but by the entire Council. At this level, I am confident. The new team seems competent and motivated to me,” he notes, while ensuring that the UDC, even though it has a majority in the executive with four seats out of seven, will know how to collaborate and ensure good collegiality.
No disappointment
Although he will not be mayor, Vincent Musolino will nevertheless continue to sit on the Municipal Council. “I hope that the UDC will keep its promises and allow good collaboration. But it should be fine, I’m not too worried,” he slips, while still saying he is satisfied with his score. “The people have chosen, we cannot be disappointed. The important thing is to get to work.”
