Two women were possibly drugged and sexually assaulted on Saturday evening in Boom, the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office confirmed on Sunday. The events took place during an evening organized by the Braxgata hockey club.
The Rupel police zone was alerted on Saturday evening and immediately opened an investigation. The prosecution was immediately informed of the facts. “We take them very seriously and are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine what exactly happened“, said the prosecution.
“We are currently aware of two victims. They gave a statement and were taken to the ‘Zorgcentrum na Seksueel Geweld’, where they were offered specialist help“, he continued.
The prosecution also specified that the method used to drug the victims (drink or injection) had not yet been identified.
