the essential
For the first time in Aveyron, the ProMilès agreement was set up between the army and the Angles hardware store. The opportunity to highlight a system that should allow partnerships to emerge between local businesses and the local military fabric.
In August 2022, the General Staff of the Armed Forces and Medef (French Business Movement) had imagined a system to bring together local businesses and the surrounding military fabric. And this, “in order to strengthen national cohesion in all defense and security zones”.
Called ProMilès, this agreement should notably make it possible to facilitate the integration of a reservist into an army unit, whether, for example, taking into account the time constraints linked to their commitment to the reserve.
And, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces, “the signatory companies recognize the importance of the commitment of the men and women of the armies to the service of the Nation, and undertake to provide their support to active and military personnel. reserve, wounded from the armies, former soldiers, as well as their spouses, thereby contributing both to national cohesion and to supporting the moral forces of the armies”.
Started in the summer of 2022, 50 signatures were recorded from September to December 2022, then 150 new ones from January to May 2023, to arrive at 300 manifestos in the summer of 2023 with companies of various sizes, at the national level as well as at the local level. In Aveyron, the first signing of this agreement took place with Quincaillerie Angles.
Extension of citizen commitment
For Lieutenant-Colonel Olivier Destefanis, deputy departmental military delegate for Aveyron, “this agreement should also facilitate exchanges with the business world”. Concerning the Aveyron company, it is a question of integrating warrant officer Bastien, aged 32, into this system.
“It’s ultimately a fairly simple commitment but one that still had to be supervised,” explains Guillaume Angles. But this happened naturally because it is also a relationship of trust with the employee. This approach also interests us because it can be promoted within the framework of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) labeling, something we are actively working on. »
For Warrant Officer Bastien, this integration into the reserve was done “as an extension of a civic commitment. I was president of the JCE (Junior Economic Chamber) and through this, I discovered this universe which was completely foreign to me. I wanted to continue this commitment, not necessarily for the military aspect, but more with the idea of investing in the territory.”
The young man has already carried out his first missions with the defense class offered at Foch high school, on the theme of cybersecurity. “Each volunteer is supported within the DMD (Departmental Military Delegation) where we provide training. He will then go, for two weeks, to the military academy of Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan (Morbihan) to receive officer training,” explains Lieutenant-Colonel Olivier Destefanis.
