Saturday November 30, 2024 signaled the start of the Christmas lighting season with the lighting of Saint-Germain-du-Crioult (Calvados). The audience was once again enchanted.
Children at the heart of the event
The appointment was made at nightfall at 6 p.m., in the village center immersed in the darkness for the event. In partnership with the parents’ association of the Saint-Germain school, the children were at the heart of this evening event.
The children's torchlight procession and the projection of schoolchildren's Christmas drawings introduced the event before the traditional collaborative game to build the Christmas tree. The collective success of the challenge was also the trigger for highlighting the village.
A festive month of December
Every year, the effect of surprise and enchantment are at the rendezvous of illumination, since each edition has its share of new features. The team of volunteers, gathered around their leader Alain Lequertier, mobilizes collectively to create a surprise.
The festivities are just beginning in Saint-Germain, the festival committee is organizing a free Christmas carol concert at the multipurpose hall on Friday December 13 at 8:30 p.m.
The next day, the Christmas market will take place in the town for two days, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December. Finally, from December 14 to 29and merry-go-round child will join the village square to the delight of the little ones.
