Tuesday December 3, 2024, at the call of theinter-union CGT, CFDT, and CFE-CGCmore than 200 staff from theCamille Miret Institute has Lyme gathered in the main courtyard of the establishment to denounce the salary situation and the tensions caused by recent comments from management.
Salaries, employment
The date of this event was initially planned as part of the annual wage negotiation (NAO). In the meantime, writings from general management considered “inappropriate and contemptuous” by the union organizations have appeared. Nicolas Crouzat, secretary of the social economic council (CSE) and the CGT unionreturns to the facts. “The message relayed on social networks indicated that the trade union organizations, among others familiar with the CGT, had members without neurons and many others… What we are asking for is that freedom of expression , it is for everyone, but with regard to the profession and the status of our general director, who is in charge of the care service, she applies a right of reserve in relation to her important functions. »
He also reports on the situation regarding salary increases, with a meeting planned for today with management. “Wages are at their lowest in the collective agreement. There is a gap between public and private salaries of around €400 for a professional nurse or caregiver, and it is a difficult time to live with salaries like that. Moreover, due to the collective agreement, 40% of employees need an increase so that salaries are at least the minimum wage. There is a real inconsistency between inflation, the salary increase in the collective agreement, which is not up to the increase in the minimum wage. »
The union delegate also reacts to the employment situation. “In terms of staff shortages, we were able to see, via an external audit, that there were around 130 fewer people in the workforce in 3 years. There, there are between 40 and 50 positions to fill, around forty nursing positions, 5 or 6 nursing assistant positions. It’s really a work force that is not present. The number of staff in the services is always at a minimum to be able to maintain care. »
On the attractiveness of the profession, Nicolas Crouzat notes that “for us, the main reason is the salary. Going on an equal basis between a public service and the private sector would be a means of recruitment that is considered important. There are other subjects that we work on such as schedules, schedules, the possibility of finding job offers for the spouse in the territory. For a year and a half, the union organizations have been working, making proposals, but which are never accepted or rarely discussed with management.”
