The writing of The New Republic selected six personalities (people or groups) in six categories. It is now up to you to decide between them by participating in our online vote.
Voting has already started and will close on Wednesday, December 11, at 12 p.m. The one you place first in each of the six categories will then be the subject of an article, published from Monday, December 23. Here is our selection.
Entrepreneurs
Alexis de Galembert and his broyés d’Ardin; Johanna Poitevin and her candy shop; Henri Danzin and Charles de Dainville, founders of the artisanal furniture company Jaùh; François Asselin, CEO of the eponymous carpentry company; Matthieu Paineau, president of Sothogam; Willy Marolleau, boss of 50 Factory, an e-commerce company selling spare parts and accessories for scooters, cyclos, all-terrain motorcycles.

Mehdi Ouazzani, magician with a big heart; Yannick Jaulin, storyteller and defender of local culture; Eric Lotterie, story collector for Radio Dindon; Andrick Airways, the music group that got 5 million views on TikTok with In my cabin ; Agnès Pelletier, choreographer who made Paris dance before the Olympics; Sophie Colon, actress who also happens to be a painter.

Coralie Dénoues, president of the departmental council, is putting up for sale the buildings made available to the State to protest against the budgetary tightening; Sylvain Griffault, mayor of Melle, welcomes the Antibassines Water Village; Olivier Poiraud, mayor of Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan, spearheading the recognition of the state of natural disaster for the municipalities affected by the earthquake; Maryline Gelée, mayor of Pas-de-Jeu, fights against the nuisance caused by trucks crossing her town; Delphine Batho, MP, is trying to ban commercial telephone canvassing; the booksellers of L'Ombre du Vent are boycotting the publishing house Fayard which publishes the book by the president of the RN, Jordan Bardella.
