Arriving at PSG in 2019, Xavi Simons showed all his talent far from the French capital. The young Dutchman has been having a blast at Leipzig on loan for two years. His great performances with the Roten Bullen give him an immense aura in Europe.

The little Barça prodigy who was to become the new face of SG. The Parisian club had big ambitions for Xavi Simons when they went to La Masia in 2019. But the Dutch midfielder was champing at the bit in the French capital. He only played 11 professional matches with PSG. Low usage explained by the lack of places in attack and by his low experience at the high level. However, Xavi Simons quickly showed the extent of his talent abroad, at PSV Eindhoven then at RB Leipzig. Enough to open the doors to the Dutch selection for him.

It’s 80 ME minimum for Xavi Simons

Last summer, Luis Enrique would have loved to include the Dutch attacking midfielder in his group. But the player did not hear it that way and preferred to go on loan to Leipzig for a second consecutive year. Obviously, he likes it so well in the Bundesliga. The German club appreciates him just as much, intending to buy out his contract as quickly as possible. Convincing PSG on a financial level, however, promises to be extremely difficult. Indeed, Parisians are spoiled for choice in this area with very strong competition in the four corners of Europe.

The Athletic has just published the list of six other clubs interested in Xavi Simons. In the Bundesliga, Leipzig must face Bayern Munich in addition to Arsenal and Liverpool in England. Finally, the two giants of La Liga, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona have also inquired. To steal the Dutchman, Leipzig will therefore have to line up a lot of tickets. PSG is already anticipating a sale of around 80 million euros minimum. Bayern are even ready to offer 100 million euros for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder. Amounts which delight the Parisian management, unless they decide to keep Xavi Simons if a new coach arrives next summer.
