It's official! The Gravel World Cup will set sail for the first time in its history in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in 2025, with the Eislek round. First information:
For the 2025 season, a UCI Gravel Series (understand a World Cup round) will take place in Luxembourg, for the first time in history. Called Eislek Gravel Luxembourg, this round will take place near Vianden, on the border German-Luxembourgish, Saturday June 21, 2025.
This event also appears in the list of qualifying races for the Gravel World Championships, which will be held in Nice and the date of which has not yet been announced.
At this point, it appears that two different routes are on the agenda. The first, reserved for Elite runners, is announced at 120 km in the form of a starting loop of around 25 km, and a complete tour of just under 50 km to be completed twice. The second route is announced to be shorter (72 km) and smoother, and will cross the border to discover the German forests.
Between the sumptuous scenery that the region offers and the pretty trails that can be found there, it is above all the team of organizers who makes us think that the course will be very easy, since it is the collective behind the Grand Raid Godefroy who is in charge of this gravel event. A nice new challenge for this year 2025!
